User Interface

Window

Exif Viewer is a single window application that display one file exif information per instance.

Browse

Open Viewer

Exif Viewer provide several methods to open exif file.

Command Line

  1. Open console
  2. Type "[PATH]ExifViewer [filename]"
  3. Press [Enter]

Explorer Popup Menu (Right click)

View

Once the file is open, the exif information is displayed in the list view. The tags details are grouped and listed in order.

Save

Exif viewer allows exporting the exif binary into file, extracting the thumbnail and saving the decoded information into file.

Save as Binary File

  1. Select [File] -> [Save EXIF (Binary)]
  2. Select file name and location from dialog
  3. Press [OK]

Save Text Information

  1. Select [File] -> [Save EXIF (Text)]
  2. Select file name and location from dialog
  3. Press [OK]

Extract Image Thumbnail

  1. Select [File] -> [Save Thumbnail As...]
  2. Select file name and location from dialog
  3. Press [OK]

Option

Multilingual User Interface

The software can be localize to any language. The default and build-in is English (United States).

Select language

  1. Select [Tool] -> [Multilingual]
  2. Select the installed language from the list
  3. Press OK

Download

There is a set of verified language file that is able to download from Exif Viewer homepage.

Install

To install the language file, copy the file to the directory that the program is installed. The program will load the language file from the same directory.

Create

To create the software language file, you have to download the resource kit to create your own language. If you want to share your code, you can send your copy to the homepage.

File Associations

This dialog allow you to associate the file type with the software.

  1. Select [Tool] -> [File Type]
  2. From the text box, enter the file extensions and use ';' character to separate
  3. The selected extension association will be display in the list box
  4. Check/Uncheck the extension to associate the file to the program

GUI Font

This dialog allow you to modify the GUI font used in the software.

  1. Select [Tool] -> [GUI Font]
  2. Check/Uncheck the enable/disable the font style
  3. Click [Select] to modify the font type
  4. Click [Reset] to use the default system font type

Shortcut Key

This dialog allow you to customize the software shortcut key.

  1. Select [Tool] -> [Shortcut Key]
  2. Select the command from the list
  3. Press [Return] in the list or click [Set] to modify the key of selected command
  4. Press [Insert] or click [Add] to add key to the selected command, more then one set of shortcut key can be associated to the same command
  5. Press [Delete] or click [Clear] to remove the key of selected command
  6. To comfirm the change, press [OK]
  7. To use the software default shortcut key, press [Default]
