CREATING CUSTOM PUZZLES

 

1) THE PUZZLE PROPERTIES MENU

 

Here you get to set the basic settings of your puzzle.

Below is an explanation of the various fields:

PUZZLE NAME
Click the box to change the name of the puzzle.
DIFFERENT BALL TYPES
The number of different ball types in the game.
MOVE DOWN AMOUNT
Controls how how much the balls move down the screen during play.
MOVE UP AMOUNT FOR FALLING BALLS
Controls how much the balls move up the screen when the user causes balls to fall during play.
MOVE UP AMOUNT FOR REMOVING BALLS
Controls how much the balls move up the screen when the user causes balls to be removed during play.
SUGGESTED DIFFICULTY /
SUGGESTED LEVEL
Only used if you want sending your puzzle to GrassGames - indicates how difficult you think your level in comparison with the standard puzzles included in the game.

 

After setting up your puzzle click the "PUZZLE DESIGN" button to continue.

 

 

2) THE PUZZLE DESIGN MODE

 

Here you get to design your puzzle. Hold down "K" to see the keys.

To setup your puzzle, move the arrows around and press a number key to place a ball.

Press "B", "W" and "E" to insert a special ball, and press "Delete" to remove a ball.

You can insert the exploding ball into the Next Ball List, but not into the puzzle layout.

 

 

Press Tab to edit the next ball list.
Again use the arrow keys and the number keys to place balls in the next ball list.
Press Tab again to return to the layout edit mode.

 

 

 

3) TESTING YOUR PUZZLE

 

Press "T" to test your puzzle. Now you get to play your puzzle as it would normally play in the game.

When testing you can press "U" to undo the last shot you've taken.

If you've tested the puzzle more than once, you can press the right mouse button to replay the shot you took during the last test you ran. This can save you a lot of time when perfecting a puzzle.

Press "Escape" to finish testing.

 

 

4) SENDING YOUR PUZZLE TO GRASSGAMES

 

To send your puzzle to grassgames, simply click the "SEND TO GRASSGAMES" button in the puzzle properties page.

Ensure you are connected to the internet and click "SEND" - that's it.

If your puzzle is good enough it will be included in the next version of Balls!
