Mixer Preferences

Options and settings for the MixRack can be found here.

MixRack Boot Scene - You can choose one of the Scenes to recall each time the MixRack is powered up or restarted. It does not affect the Surface. This option is typically used in fixed installations where the system needs to resets its parameters to a known starting point at the start of the day or session.

Note - Only set this option if it is needed. For live show mixing the MixRack Boot Scene should not typically be set as any loss of power during the show would lose the current mix settings.

Note - This option is stored in Show memories.

Audio Network Settings

iLive identifies which network card options are fitted.  These are shown on the Surface Status screen and Editor Tools / Health window.

Options associated with the audio networks are set using the Surface MIXRACK / Mixer Pref screen   or Editor Setup / Mixer Preferences menu.  Options available depend on which network card is fitted:

The ACE option used in Port B provides a Mode setting to choose how the input signals from its two sockets are used. Set this according to your application:

Redundancy On

When linking systems using two cables for redundant backup (64 channel mic split or Dual-Rack) . Auto switches between cables without audio interruption if an error is detected.

Redundancy Off: In1-64 from Link1

When linking systems with one cable (64 channel mic split, Dual-Rack or connecting one xDR-16 expander) and using the second socket to daisy chain signals to other systems.

Redundancy Off: In1-32 Lnk1, 33-64 Lnk2

When connecting two xDR-16 expanders.

Note - In Redundant Link OFF mode, ACE link 1 bridges network control and carries audio in both directions (in and out). Use this as the main link. Ace link 2 does not bridge control and carries audio in one direction only (out). Link 2 can be used to daisy chain signals coming into link 1 to another device. Do this by mapping Port B: ACE inputs (link 1) to Port B outputs (link 1 and 2) using the OUTPUTS screen.

Audio Sync:

The MixRack can generate its own internal audio clock or sync from an external source via a network card in Port B, or Port A or the Sync input socket on the modular iLive RAB2 (Remote Audio 2) module. You can also sync from Port B in a connected xDR-16 expander or the Slave in a Dual-Rack system. Choose Internal for normal stand-alone operation, or an external option if the iLive is a slave in a linked system or is being fed with remote digital audio.

Input source select  - Use the Surface MIXRACK / Mixer Pref / Quick Input Source Setup screen or Editor Setup / Mixer Preferences / Quick Input Source Setup menu to set the source to a range of input channels.

For digital mic splitting:

Note - If any of the mic preamps in the selected range are currently assigned as Insert Returns then these will be ignored when sockets are assigned to the range.
